Viktoras Orestas Vagusevičius is a multi-faceted musician known for his diversity and creativity.
He finished studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (prof. P. Geniušas piano class) as well as piano and contemporary music master's degree studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (prof. A. Kouyoumdjian and prof. M. Hoursiangou)
A major part of his musical career is performances that provoke audience with modern improvisation and contemporary music elements in the classical academic music programmes.
He closely communicates with modern improvisation musicians, contemporary music ensembles and various audiovisual project creators.
Part of his career is silent cinema accompanying. In response to his successful debut at Pordenone silent cinema festival and masterclasses, he became a prominent participant in silent cinema accompanying and festival organizing.
However, the majority of Viktoras Orestas musical activities is related to classical and contemporary music performances. As a pianist, he had already performed in the United States, Russia, and most of Europe. He also appears as a soloist with several chamber orchestras and is part of various chamber music ensembles. He has performed in various concert halls including Kaunas State Philharmonic, Belgrade State Philharmonic, Teatro Civico, Wiener Konzerthaus, and others.
He has won several international piano competitions ( „Grand Concours International de Piano“ Lyon, France (1 place), „6th International competition for young pianist“ Riga, Latvia (3rd place), International piano competition „XXI century music and pedagogy“ Kaunas, Lithuania (Grand Prix) ) and took part in numerous masterclasses with well-known artists like Pascal Devoyon, Bernd Goetzke, Pascal Nemirovski, Mūza Rubackytė, Natalia Trull and others.
